  4. Add the additional baggage only per American Airliens rules and finally pay the applicable charges.

American Airlines Extra Baggage Policy

American Airlines has rules that decide which items you can carry with your luggage. Only correct sizes and weights are allowed according to American Airlines Extra Baggage Allowance guidelines, and you can also check the items for convenient travel. Some of the extra baggage policies are given below.
  • Carry-on bag size must be under 22X14X19 inches, including wheel and handle. 
  • Soft-sided garments' size is a maximum of up to 51 inches.
  • The maximum allowable weight for single checked baggage is 23 or 32 kg, depending on the class type.
  • However, allowable oversized weight should be less than 45 kg in every situation. 
  • The charges will be applicable for every extra baggage, which you must pay as per the rules.
  • Oversized baggage size should not exceed 292 cm, including all lengths, widths, and heights.
