If your flight has been delayed more than 3 hours or more and if you do not get alternative flight then Virgin Atlantic will compensate you accordingly
Flight Cancellation Compensation on Virgin Atlantic
For flights that have been canceled within 14 days prior to the scheduled departure (from Europe), Virgin Atlantic will provide compensation up to $700 or €600.
For Virgin Atlantic flights (departing from EU airport) canceled under any unavoidable circumstances, the airline will provide compensation as in alternative flight or a full refund.

Flights traveled less than 1500 km: Up to €250/per person
Domestic European flights traveled over 1500 km: Up to €400/per person
Non-domestic European flights traveled between 1500 - 3500 km: Up to €400/per person
Non-domestic European flights traveled over 3500 km: Up to €600/per person
