  • A customer who has made the booking via a corporate web portal.

How to Request Hawaiian Airlines Same day standby?

Requesting a standby differs depending on whether you have to check in baggage. Both scenarios are discussed. Run an eye over them to understand them better. 
With checked baggage:
  • Make your check-in at the airport counter in the lobby. 
  • Tell the customer service agent you wish to stand by for an earlier flight. Ensure to tag your bag with the requested standby flight details. 
  • Your original confirmed flight will still exist, and the airline will add your name to the earlier flight’s standby list. 
  • You may proceed to the standby flight gate. 
Without checked baggage:
  • You should complete your check-in through the website, airport check-in counter, or kiosk machines. 
  • If you are making your check-in at the check-in counter, you shall inform the customer service agent that you would like to stand by for an earlier flight. This should be done before reaching the security gate. 
  • The airline will keep your original reservation and list your name in your requested standby flight. 
  • Head towards the standby flight departure gates.

Are there any restrictions on Hawaiian same-day standby?

Now that you know about Hawaiian same-day standby, you should also know its limitations per the Hawaiian Airlines standby policy. The airline does not permit you to request a same-day standby in the following cases. 
  • If your preferred standby flight is to depart within 30 minutes. 
  • You have checked in your baggage on your original flight. 
  • You are not a Pualani gold or platinum member. 
  • Web special forces and booking class O cannot request a standby.
  • You are ineligible to request a standby if you possess a main cabin primary ticket.
  • Standby flights do not earn miles, and baggage fee is to be paid.
  • There is nil guarantee of getting a seat on a standby flight due to a first-come, first-serve basis.

What if my standby flight is delayed or canceled?

If you have a standby flight that gets delayed or canceled, or any changes happen, you can request to standby for another available flight.
