You can go through the seat selection within 24 hours of making the purchase.
You will have to choose the seat in the same class where you have made the booking.
Through the seat selection process, you cannot upgrade your booking.
If you have an economy booking, you will have to make a payment for the selected seat. In contrast, you can get a free seat if you have a business or first-class booking.

How to select a seat on Tap Portugal?

Get on to Tap Portugal’s official webpage www.flytap.com.
Accept the cookies settings, and tap on the My trips tab.
Then enter the booking number and last name of the passenger to retrieve the booking.
Tap on the select seat option from the menu.
This will forward you to the seat map, choose a preferred seat and make the payment with the help of the on-screen instructions.
On confirmation, you will receive an email to your registered email address with the details of your seat.
How much does Tap Portugal charge for seat selection?
You must know about the Tap Portugal seat selection fee to select a preferred seat. The fee is explained in detail in the points mentioned below:
A seat in the middle row will cost $32.
If you choose a seat in the aisle or window seat, you will be charged $40.
For more oversized seats nearer to the seat in front in economy Xtra, you will be charged $78 and $84 for the middle row and aisle or window seat, respectively.
If you choose the seats near the escape door on the emergency exit, where you get extra legroom, you will be charged a seat selection fee of $101.
What if I do not select the seat on Tap Portugal?
If you do not go through the Tap Portugal seat selection, then the airlines will let you choose a paid seat at the time of web check-in. Or they will auto-assign a seat after getting the check-in done. You will not be entitled to pay any seat selection fee through the auto-assign process.
