Lufthansa Flight Cancellation Policy 24 Hours, Refund & Fee

According to the Lufthansa flight cancellation policy, you can cancel your reservation and claim a refund through my booking option within 24 hours before the flight departure. Still, on the other hand, if you exceed the time limit of 24 hours while canceling your booking, you need to pay the cancellation fees.

How to cancel a Lufthansa Flight Online?

You can cancel your flight booking through online mode, which is so easy and feasible to use. It needs only the internet so you can access the official site of the airline. You can follow the below-mentioned procedure, which will take you to the cancellation page quickly.
  • You can visit the official page of Lufthansa.
  • Then log in through your account, and the panel will open your screen.
  • After that, move to my booking tab. 
  • Enter your surname and booking code, then click on continue.
  • Now the page will display the list of flights, and select your flight to click on the cancellation button.
  • Once your cancellation is canceled, then the airline will drop the automatic confirmation email to your registered email address. 
Suppose you have made a booking through the official Lufthansa site. In that case, the refund will automatically be provided to your registered account details, and there is no need to run an extra process.

How much is Lufthansa's cancellation fee? 

If you have a cancellation within 24 hours of flight booking, then you can skip paying the cancellation fee. Still, beyond 24 hours, you are liable to pay the cancellation fees of 200$ USD that can be deducted from your flight fare, or you can pay through different modes of payment.

Does Lufthansa let you cancel within 24 hours? 

Yes, you can cancel your flight within 24 hours because, according to Lufthansa's cancellation policy, the airline authority has issued a time limit of 24 hours to request cancellation. With the help of this, you can avoid paying the charges as a penalty for your cancellation.

Can I get compensation for a canceled flight from Lufthansa?

Yes, you can get compensation for the canceled flight if you follow the below-mentioned terms and conditions designed by the Lufthansa authority.
  • Airlines allow you to inform authorities regarding your cancellation at least 14 days before the flight departure.
  • You can cancel your flight between 14 and 7 days before the departure time. The departing flight should leave the terminal at most 2 hours before the original departure time, and the arrival timing should be 4 hours after the arrival schedule.
  • Suppose you have canceled your flight less than seven days before the departure flight. In that case, your departing flight should leave at most 1 hour before the original departure time, and the arrival timing should be at most 2 hours after the arrival schedule.

How to request a refund from Lufthansa?

You can request a refund via the official email address issued by the airline MEX_REFUND@icat.dlh.de. You can use this mail to provide your detailsin regards to get the refund, or you can write a mail to the below-given address.

How much time does it take to refund a Lufthansa ticket?

Generally, in more than 70% of cases, getting the refund generated and credited takes 2 to 3 working days. If the refund is not calculated automatically for any reason, it may take longer than usual because of the manual process.

    • I Noticed that my tickets to and from SNA and DEN booked thru Lufthansa was cancelled as well as the Lufthansa tickets to and from DEN to and from MUC. on 9 June thru 24 June. Booking refferance TE788X. Will my credit card be refunded soon or is there further requirements. The email from Lufthansa on 26 May gave notice of cancellation for booking TE788X. Am I required to go through the AIG insurance or due you refund automatically? Thank You for any help with this. RBParke
