Can I cancel my flight and rebook for Lower Prices?

It is the norm that whenever passengers book a flight, they make sure they get it as cheaply as possible to prevent extra expenses. The passengers try to make their trip as cheap as possible, search for affordable deals everywhere, compare them and decide from which Airline they are getting the cheapest deals so they can purchase their cheap tickets. But what if after the purchase of tickets, they get another cheaper deal and want to know how to cancel a flight and book it at cheaper rates so that the passengers could save more money:

Cancel and rebook the flight cheaper:

  • If the passengers want to book another flight available at cheaper rates, then they need to cancel the prior one with keeping all the points in mind:
  • Passengers should ensure they go for cancellation within 24 hours of booking, as most Airlines return the money without cancellation charges if the ticket is canceled under 24 hours policy.
  • Go to the official website of an Airline and navigate to My Booking. Open the booking details, go to cancel the flight, and then follow further instructions to cancel the flight and rebook it.
  • Passengers can apply for a fare difference with the cancellation code received.
  • Then book another flight but ensure that passengers are getting fare difference and not charged for any other services.

What happens if I book my airfare but then it goes lower? 

First, passengers should look at the cancellation and refund policy of the Airline from which they have booked their tickets. It depends on the Airline's terms and conditions whether they will get a refund or not, without any cancellation charges, or whether they will get a fare difference. However, booking another flight at cheaper rates will not be beneficial if passengers don't get their fare difference.

What happens if I change my flight to a cheaper one?

When passengers change their flights to a higher rate, they have to pay the fare difference, and vice versa; if they have changed their flight to a cheaper one, they will get their fare difference back from the Airline. 

Final Words

Few airlines have a price drop policy in which if you booked your flight with them and after the booking flight price drops, they will provide you a refund or credit to compensate for the price difference.
